Hi guys, just curious when the new Trezor will be supported by core wallet? any idea?
10:07:27
azerx:
ledger stax crashes hard with monero app time to time so i have to initialize with the 24 words so i'm hoping trezor has better hw support...
10:12:45
DataHoarder:
afaik that also falls on ledger/trezor if they made changes besides device ids
10:40:36
azerx:
yes for sure
10:41:03
azerx:
they are pretty arrogant to be honest and always refer back to projects :(

I know from the Carrot lead dev that he is going out of its way, and then still walk the extra mile, to make it super-simple for hardware wallets to interface with Monero wallet apps post hardfork and sign FCMP++ / Carrot transactions. I think he is near the point where he can submit the descriptions of those interfaces to all interested companies. Then, those will have to lift their arses.
11:04:17
DataHoarder:
afaik the question is about supporting the new models, not fcmp/carrot
11:10:46
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
yeah. Theyre broken bcuz the companies change shit and dont tell anyone
11:21:24
rbrunner7:monero.social:
You mean if they are not reliable *now*, and some new models even don't run at all? Yes of course.
11:39:17
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
No, i mean they changed something once or twice recently that caused us to update monero twice to fix their changes
11:40:08
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
one of their newest models (i cant remember exact details) interfaced differently so doesnt work properly
11:42:04
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/issues/4533 < fixed in latest monero release
11:44:53
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/issues/4540 issue with newest model (unresolved)
11:45:52
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
These have nothing to do with keys. seems like upstream changing stuff w/o testing properly.
11:46:54
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
"I used BTC, ETH, AVAX, Sol and many other wallets and seen this type of reset one other time and that was when i was using Near wallet."
14:32:10
selsta:
4540 should be fixed by updating hidapi last release but it's clearly a bug in their firmware if it totally crashes
14:32:56
selsta:
so maybe I should close this? not much else we can do on our side
14:33:26
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
Worse than crash, it totally wiped their wallet 😆
14:34:00
selsta:
lol
14:34:10
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
I cant say - i dont use a hww so havent any experience with problems associated
14:35:31
ofrnxmr:xmr.mx:
Maybe ping ops to see if its still an issue. In any case, i dont see how it could be a monero problem when it only effects their latest model on some new firmware

Do I need to do anything to get 'pending review' added to #10290? Or is one approval enough?
14:56:04
jpk68:
Apologies, I'm unfamiliar :)
15:00:20
selsta:
jpk68: it's already reviewed
15:00:54
selsta:
number of approvals depends on the change, for 10290 it's enough
15:01:44
jpk68:
Alright, thanks
