tomdooley:matrix.org:
I was enjoying this one. last I heard some backend infrastructure was being migrated. i'll try to fiddle with it again. considering an umbrel app for the backend, huge potential here!

if anyone knows how to build apk from source, testers welcomed
03:53:59
ajs_:matrix.org:
the backend instructions are out of date. you would need to fiddle around docker files to get monero pay and backend server up and running
03:55:52
ajs_:matrix.org:
it would be a big win if someone could get the backend into umbrel

it needs guts

Ed13 is a 1 shot slopper and made the PR from main branch. Also jt looks like they haven't bothered to test it 👍

yeah, these devices are what I'm talking about > <@tomdooley:matrix.org> https://x.com/MgkMshrmBrkfst/status/1985489350352912664?s=20

i'd trust mrnaif to integrate an off the shelf device (printer/nfc) into bitcarts PoS : https://docs.bitcart.ai/guides/store-pos

plowsof:
loop.ster forking should work now

mrnaif:matrix.org:
As for POS, the closest approach to that video sent is our POS calculator, where you input amounts and it renders checkout page. If the web app is installed as a PWA, it can then be used as an "app", hiding the browser address bar and so on. As for printing/nfc interesting stuff, but NFC specifically are there any standards fo [... too long, see https://mrelay.p2pool.observer/e/mJOxyOwKQWpjUFNh ]
20:12:44
plowsof:
thanks for the info mrnaif, i don't know if there are any NFC standards for crypto payments, the nfc support i have seen in monero land has been to simply send/read a monero: URI instead of the user needing to scan the QR code . ive not seen this implemented but other coins have 'auto send payment if the payment request is < e.g. 0.2 xmr) which
20:12:44
plowsof:
would behave like a contactless payment. there are some android POS devices with printer/nfc available off the shelf which can also display bitcart as an "app", just food for thought
20:21:59
mrnaif:matrix.org:
Yeah about NFC the problem is exactly lack of standards, it can be easily implemented but like noone will be able to use it if no wallet supports it.
20:21:59
mrnaif:matrix.org:
As for those devices might be, but it would probably be hard for me to get them, but if you know some exact device names I can check it out

intr:unredacted.org:
ty @mrnaif:matrix.org, but what about POS terminals? which ones are "recommended", if you know?
