Also, you said youbhave flatpak / flathub installed. Save yourself the headache and just use the monero gui flatpak from flathub

Thank you. Yes, I need to learn more about Flatpak/Flathub. I am sure it will save a lot of headache. As I mentioned I now have (by some miraculous resolution of the "idconfig failed exit status 256" action) what, appears to be, a functioning Monero application on my Linux. I have not done the set up yet because I am not sure what level I should set it up in. I consider myself a "<clipped message>

Beginner" but am inclined to set it up on the "Advanced" setting because it promises better privacy. I am also interested in the extra features. I just need to learn more about the "running a node", "mining" and system requirements for downloading the blockchain.
